New King of Swing

Barry Bonds hit his 756th career home run last night and dethroned Hammerin' Hank Aaron as home run champ. Bonds did so in front of his home crowd in San Francisco off of Nationals pitcher Mike Bacsik. Now the debate begins as to whether that record gets an asterisk or not. See the story here.

I think it should get an asterisk. Can't deny that Bonds has talent but he's also used drugs that aid him.

It's documented that he began taking steroids in 1999 when he was 35. Everything he accomplished after that, including the 73 home run season, should either be wiped out or get an asterisk. MLB needs to do the right thing and punish Bonds and other offenders. Since baseball is a game where stats and records are so important, the best punishment is to attack these guys' stats.
